Self-proclaimed owner of a good tavern, Adam Phillips has recently taken the helm at The Oak pub in Charing, drawing on eight years' experience running pubs and hotel bars across the country.

Adam is keen to continue the pub's long-standing tradition of offering good food, an inviting atmosphere and friendly banter.

“NEW GARDEN TERRACE” 28th July 2009

In early June we unveiled a brand new garden terrace just in time for the glorious English summer. The terrace is designed specifically for alfresco dining whilst still enjoying the efficient and friendly service that is characteristic of The Oak.

“WE’RE GROWING OUR OWN” 28th July 2009

At the Oak we have always endeavoured to serve the freshest produce available from local sources, which is why we have now decided to grow our own wherever possible. The new vegetable and herb garden is flourishing with courgettes, French beans, Borlotti beans, butternut squash, copper fennel, dill, parsley and much more. We hope that this new project will make our food taste even fresher than before as it really only has to travel a few yards!
